Vaginal Bleaching
Laser vaginal bleaching is a method to permanently lighten tissues in the vaginal area using laser therapy.
While it’s called vaginal bleaching, this is a misnomer. There is some important anatomy to be familiar with. The vagina is the inside part of the female genitalia and is too sensitive for bleaching. Laser vaginal bleaching actually aims to lighten the outside female genitalia (the vulva) – which includes the labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, vaginal opening and/or perineum (area between the vagina and anus), and sometimes the bikini or inner thighs.
Post-laser vaginal bleaching care
- Wear loose or disposable underwear after treatment to avoid friction.
- Keep the area clean and moisturized with gentle products.
- Use lukewarm water for washing for 48–72 hours after treatment, and avoid bathing in hot water for the first few days.
- Avoid sexual contact for 3–4 days post-treatment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 48–72 hours.
Tanning. Avoid tanning beds or direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks post-treatment. Be sure to always use sunscreen in the area when exposed to avoid hyperpigmentation.
